My friends…
It’s always a beautiful day here on the Eastside. I’m Noé from eastsideweather.com, here for MammothFM in the Eastern Sierra, coming atcha with your local weather report…
A little bit of elevated moisture is in the area this Monday, leading to building clouds in the afternoon, and a pretty low chance for some isolated showers, but nothing really convincing. After this, stable weather builds back in for the rest of the week.
Fall is officially in full swing, and the foliage isn’t waiting up for anyone. If you haven’t been leaf-peeping yet, now is certainly the time to go! Most higher elevation places are at or very near peak, with lower elevation places showing substantial color. Check the fall foliage reports online for the latest and most up-to-date info!
Our warm dry fall weather is still favored for about the next week. Tropical activity in the eastern Pacific could throw a curveball into things, and models are continuing to have a hard time with the longer range, but it looks like ridging will be around more often than not this month, which means mostly warm and dry weather.
Fear not, snow lovers! October is typically not a very snowy month on average, and it isn’t until later in November when we reliably start to see chances opening up.
We’ll continue to watch for any pattern changes, and for any signs of our first proper winter storm of the season! But for now, enjoy the beautiful fall weather!
And now, for the weather this week:
In Mammoth Lakes and surrounding areas: Monday will feature a slight chance for weak and very isolated showers. Mostly sunny with some building clouds in the afternoon. A high of 62 and an overnight low of 44. Tuesday and Wednesday, expect mostly clear weather with highs in the low to mid 60s and lows in the mid 40s.
And now down to our friends in the Owens Valley. Expect sunny weather this week with highs between 88 and 90 degrees and overnight lows generally in the low 50s.
