My friends…
It’s always a beautiful day here in the Eastern Sierra. I’m Noé from eastsideweather.com, here for MammothFM in the Eastern Sierra, coming atcha with your local weather report…
Clear weather will prevail until around Friday or Saturday of this week, when there is a potential storm window. We’ve been tracking this one for quite some time, but it still admittedly looks like a coin toss for whether it materializes into anything. The subtropical jet is combining with an upper level low swinging down from the north, which will tap into some subtropical moisture. Southern California currently appears more favored to receive the brunt of this storm, but having two components merging like this results in a pretty tenuous forecast. At most, this looks likely to be a moderate storm, with much colder temps than our last one.
In another day or two we will know more about what this will do for us. Beyond that, the first week of November and possibly even beyond are looking to keep the storm door open. An open storm door doesn’t necessarily mean a storm will reach California, but it means the large scale pattern is amenable to one.

Eastside Weather is a passion project, but keeping it running comes with steady monthly costs: hosting, data feeds and the servers that crunch the model runs. Right now the site costs more than it brings in. Whatever you chip in goes straight back into keeping it going and building new tools.
